Counseling Services for the Entire Family

Holladay Wellness provides focused support across three core areas, so every member of your family has a place to be heard and helped.

Children and Teens

Children and teens need a space that belongs to them. Danica works as a trusted adult who partners closely with parents while giving younger clients the confidential space they need to work through what they’re carrying. Whether that’s anxiety, behavioral challenges, emotional struggles, or simply the difficulties of growing up.

Support for Parents

Strong families are built on strong relationships. This service offers practical communication tools and couples counseling to help parents strengthen the foundation at the center of their family. Whether you’re navigating conflict, disconnection, or the everyday weight of parenting.

Co-ParentING

Parenting across two homes takes intention and coordination. Co-parenting counseling provides guidance for parents who are working together to keep their children supported and stable through family changes, helping both parents stay focused on what matters most.

Meet the Holladay Wellness Team

Danica Holladay, LPC

Owner & LPC

I am Danica Holladay and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you, your child, or your family. Counseling is a vulnerable step in seeking support, making changes, or processing all that life has to offer. My goal is to create a space where clients can share without judgement and bring forward what is truly important to them.

I work with a variety of presenting concerns; anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and communication concerns.
My background includes both work in the private practice realm as well as school counseling. This allows me to understand and be a support to those 18 and under as they navigate challenges within the school setting, both academically and socially.

My private practice experience has increased knowledge of the family system and has allowed me to partner with young adults in transition as well as parents seeking support.

I am here to help you reach your goals and feel seen, heard, and understood.

Kristin Mahaffey

Intern

Hello, I’m Kristin Mahaffey, an MFT Fellow working toward licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

I enjoy working with clients experiencing anxiety, interpersonal stress, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based, creating a safe space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I am a school counselor, which gives me unique insight into child and adolescent development, family dynamics, academic stress, social challenges, and emotional well-being. I enjoy partnering with children, teens, and their families to improve communication, strengthen relationships, and develop effective coping skills.

Whether you are facing a difficult transition, struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, or seeking greater connection in your relationships, I am committed to helping you move toward growth, healing, and a more balanced life.

Samantha Packer

Intern

Hello, I am Samantha and am currently pursuing my Master’s in counseling at Boise State University. Before that I graduated from Brigham Young University-Hawaii with a Bachelor’s in psychology. I have always known I wanted to work in the helping profession. I have additional experience working with children and adolescents, but truly enjoy working with people across the entire lifespan. We all need support as we navigate life’s transitions.

I have a natural inclination to help others and make positive connections. I approach counseling through a person-centered lens and believe the path to healing comes through relationships and self-awareness. This looks like warmth and collaboration in the counseling office as you receive support in working towards your goals. I look forward to working with clients who are working through grief, trauma, or overwhelming life transitions. In counseling, we will collaborate in a way that works best for you. This could look like traditional talk therapy, play therapy, or art therapy. Together, we will explore ways to be resilient and find joy in what life has to offer.

Lauren Pezina

Intern

I am Lauren, a third-year Master’s student at Boise State University! Between my master’s work and a bachelor’s in psychology, I am well-versed in child development and incorporate various approaches and interventions when working with your child or teen. I work from a child-centered approach and use a child’s existing strengths to help them overcome challenges at home, school, and in their personal life. I also have experience working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum and other behavioral disorders. Providing a fun and supportive counseling environment helps me to create positive relationships and foster growth. I look forward to working together!

Family Counseling FAQs

Start by looking for a counselor who specializes in children and teens rather than a general practice. Holladay Wellness offers a free 15-minute consultation specifically so families can confirm fit before committing to a first appointment.

Family counseling at Holladay Wellness covers support for children and teens, communication and couples counseling for parents, and co-parenting guidance for families navigating life across two homes. Services are tailored to each family’s situation rather than following a fixed program.

Many insurance plans include mental health benefits that may apply to child therapy. Holladay Wellness can help you verify your coverage during the scheduling step. Specific provider details will be confirmed with you directly.

Holladay Wellness aims to get new clients into a first session within two weeks of initial contact. Prompt responsiveness is a core part of how the practice operates.

Co-parenting counseling helps parents who are raising children across two households communicate more effectively and make decisions that keep their children’s wellbeing at the center. It is not couples therapy – it is focused specifically on the parenting relationship.
